Current or prior patients often provide valuable insights regarding the
healthcare that they received and the manner in which they were treated by the
physician, the clinical staff and the business office staff. When
selecting your healthcare provider, we know that you have an abundance of good
choices in the Central Texas area. We want to be your first choice, so we
strive hard to meet your expectations in terms of convenience, efficiency,
knowledge and professional courtesy. We want each and every one of our
patients to feel that they received the very best care possible, in a warm,
friendly professional environment.
Here is what some of our patients have to
say about the Central Texas Spine Institute:
My daughter, Katherine M., had suffered
from back pain for a number of years. When she first went to college I told
her it was because of the less than stellar dorm room mattresses that she had
to endure which were nothing like the ones at our home. Plus, she spent years
doing hunter/jumper with her horses which only aggravated the pain.
After her sophomore she convinced me
that she should see a doctor. We selected Dr. Dryer as my husband had been to
see him a number of years ago. After several visits, x-rays, MRI and an
injection, we were told she needed to have a disc replaced. Surgery was
scheduled for this past June.
The procedure only took an hour and
she was up walking within two hours after that. Her incision was very small
which aided her recovery. As she walked down the hall of the hospital, Dr.
Dryer asked her about her back pain. She had none.
She continues to improve and has added
a walk/run routine to her swimming exercise regime.
We are so pleased that Katie had the
opportunity to have Dr. Dryer as her physician and will look to him for all of
our needs, should any arise.
Thank you.

Dr.
Richard Wupperman and his staff are the best there is. I can say this
because I have had two spine surgeries elsewhere. Dr. Wupperman performed
surgery on my 80 year old mother and I haven't seen her this pain free in many
years. Our Christmas was wonderful thanks to him. The surgery is
important but he treats her as family. He knows her daughters names, her
dogs name and what she does for fun. She is in love with him and at that
age or any age, bedside manner mixed with skill is important. I highly
recommend Dr. Wupperman and his staff.

"My
experience at CTSI? First rate, front to back.
I came to Dr
Smith for a second opinion. He had been recommended to me as competent and
honest by several physicians. He helped me understand my options, and helped me
believe I was going to get better.
The website is an
excellent resource, and was helpful in visualizing what had actually happened to
me.
When the time came for
surgery, the staff at the Surgical Center was attentive, well coordinated, and
humming like a smooth machine.
I stayed overnight in the
recovery center, and found it efficient and friendly.
I’m
a big believer in teamwork, and that’s what I found at CTSI."

"I'm in love with these
people.
That *may* be because they managed to fix my excruciating pain. They squeezed me
in very quickly (within hours) after having my CT scan and had me scheduled for
surgery less than two days later. The doctor was very nice and explained what
had happened to my poor spine (yikes!) and what they were going to do to fix it.
And fix it they did! The surgery was a resounding success and all the nurses,
administrative staff, doctors and others I talked to were friendly and helpful."

Dear Dr. Dryer:
I would like to say how grateful I am for your
medical expertise! I saw three spine surgeons for opinions about what to
do for the pain I was experiencing and when my husband and I met you for the
first time we knew you were the Dr. for my surgery as you exude confidence in
your profession. That gave us great peace of mind!
Due to the Spondylolisthesis of the L4 and L5
vertebrae in my back... I went from not being able to stand or walk more than 50
feet without excruciating pain radiating in my left hip and down my left leg and
then causing numbness in my left toes to being able to walk as far as 2 and 1/2
miles per day outdoors in our hilly neighborhood with significant inclines by
the 12th day post surgery. I actually walked .6 of a mile the second day
post surgery and then over a mile by the third day and just kept going further
each day. J
By the 12th day post surgery I was
totally off the pain medication and feel terrific! Thank you Dr. Dryer for
your ability to help me! It has been a pleasure to meet you during various
office and hospital visits and I always like and appreciate your consistent
gentle smile.
I also loved having surgery at NW
Hills Surgical Hospital and am thankful to have had that option. It was
like being at a 5 star hotel. The nursing care was absolutely excellent
and the facility was pristine clean. I was able to go home the next day
after surgery which amazed me after having an incision on my abdomen to replace
a disc and then an incision on my back to clean up the degenerative arthritis
and bone spurs and do the fusion at L4 and L5 vertebrae (Spondylolisthesis).
That seemed major to me!
But once again you were right...
you told me that patients do better recuperating at home. Looking back
over the past two weeks since surgery... I have to say it all seemed easy!
Thank you Dr. Dryer for all you did for me. I praise the Lord for your
medical skills and ability and desire to help people have a restored quality of
life!
